Wisconsin turkey seasons current structure is totally stupid. I have talked to people on the NWTF and on the committees to get the seasons changed. It was supposed to happen this year and didn't, so hopefully it will for next year. We have no need for multiple zones, seasons, and taking the birds in to register. The DNR came to some of the NWTF heads and other people and said they wanted to change the structure to more what the people wanted, they have agreed to most of the ideas and lets hope they follow through and make the changes. I think they will.

Y'all need to be firing off e-mails, letters and phone calls to your Senators and Representatives telling them what you want and demanding it be changed.

The bill has been wrote up and I think has actually been agreed on by the DNR.....if you trust them.
Basically 1 long season, 1 zone(maybe a couple), call in registration, and i think got rid of the application for tags. I don't recall the specifics, but that is close.

I can see a need for multiple zones in Wisconsin. Can't tell me they can manage turkeys the same in all areas of the state.

A north south split is all that would be needed. Turkey population is very large in the southern 2/3s of the state.
