What action alterations are required on your magazine boxes?

The rear of the magazine cut-out in the bottom of the receiver must be milled back .125", and the bolt stop must be shortened .110".

My question is what does that do to the structural integrity of a rem 700. I was up in Harrisburg at the sportmans show and spoke to Boby Hart's crew from Hart gun barrels. I inquired about a 350 rem mag build on a saum action I have adding the Wyatts extended box so that I could seat the Barnes TSX out a little further. Scarface and Uncle Jessie didn't seem to think that was a good idea. By the way nor do they like the TSX "you know they F__k your barrel up and they suck as a hunting bullet"

Sometimes people are negative about things that weren't their idea or that they don't understand. See P.O. Ackley and the 25 Souper for an example of the "things that weren't their idea" scenario.

How can a copper bullet f-ck up a good barrel?
There seems to be a lot of evidence that Barnes makes a pretty good hunting bullet. In some cases, maybe the best bullet for a particular bore size, cartridge, and ROT. See the original 75 grain Barnes X and the 250-3000.

The modification doesn't affect the integrity of the action but it does permanently alter the mag well in length. If you decided to revert back to a standard length box you would need to make an adapter to take up the slack. Shouldn't be too complex though. You also have to modify the BDL trigger guard clear back to the latch. It's a bit of a struggle to dump live rounds as the floorplate doesn't get the treatment.

And... shoot what you want!
