Hey guys, I was wondering if the 69A trigger is adjustable and if so what do I need to do to adjust it.

Here's a good article on 69's and 69a's. It might answer some of your questions.

69a doesn't cock on close, the 69 does. Go on over to RimfireCentral.com and check out the Winchester (and other brands too) forums. Lots of info. Ask your question there and get some help from guys that are Winchester fanatics.

Some Model 69 triggers are slightly adjustable, via a screw in the rear of the trigger housing, accessible after removing the barreled action from the stock.

Badley: Big Stick is incorrect in this regard!
Yes... the Winchester Model 69A has a trigger that is adjustable.
On page 57 of my 109 page book titled "Sequence of Take-Down and Assembly Operations for Winchester Models 69A, 72 and 75" - by Winchester-Western - First Printing 30 March 1960 - there is a detailed set of instructions and illustrations showing how to adjust the Winchester 69A trigger.
All it takes is removing the barreled action from the stock and a screwdriver and a trigger pull gauge.
I would suggest a couple of 22 L.R. snap caps be used as well.
If you would like I could send a copy of this set of instructions and detailed illustrations to you.
Let me know - the pull weights on the Model 69A's are factory recommended to be adjusted to between 4 pounds and 5 1/2 pounds!

Perhaps a point of interest: I have a collection of "rimfire articles" from the British NRA publication from 1938 or so. The author bemoans the fact that American shooters can get an accurate 22lr for $12 (Win 69) and actually put a scope on it for much less than the Brits paid for their rifles. He states the accuracy is comparable to British target rifles of the day.
As I remember it, the Winchester and scope together was cheaper than the scopes available in Britain.FWIW

Just purchased a new old Winchester 69A. Would appreciate a copy of your manual.

Thanks.
