This is sad. The whole thread turned ugly for no reason.

Lets turn this thread around. Best bang for the buck and fastest turn around. David Winston is a slam dunk.

Dink, no dog in this fight. I think you and Rick just had a bit of a mis-understanding. Anyway, if my history is correct Dave Winston had a hand in teaching Ingram. Rick alluded to that in one of his posts.

IMO their knives are very similar in build quality. With that being said, Ingrams do cost more and are considered more "collectible". If that is not your intention then the Winston is your huckleberry. Outstanding build quality, at a bargain of a price. Want to save a little more? Go to Dave's son...Jason, as his quality is rapidly approaching his Dad's, but his prices are a little lower still.

Hope this can get back on-track so we can talk about knives. Usually this level of animosity is reserved for the Campfire forum.

If I remember correctly, Dave and Jason were going to start extending the scale material another quarter inch towards the "guard" area. If that is the case, they will be VERY similar to the Ingrams....IMO.

I don't recall as they were the first knives I bought from David.
They are gems though.
Davis would know and is a fine gentleman to talk with.
