I just noticed Doug's Steiner ad. Does anyone here have any actual experience with their scopes?

I know they, along with Burris are owned by Beretta. It sort of strikes me that Beretta is perhaps using Steiner as it's premier line and Burris as the base. Burris appears to be backing away from their better scopes, dropping the Euro Diamond and Signature lines and appear to be focusing on the Fullfield line. The Steiner Predator line appears very similar the Euro Diamond

Any thoughts?

good bino's for the dime, i'd imagine the scopes are tough.

+1 on Steiner binos, I borrowed a set from a friend for a deer hunt. He had bought them as a discontinued model for about $70.00, I was very impressed with how clear and bright they were.

Yup, they make excellent bino's. Here's a few of mine.

Most recent- NightHunter XP 8x42

Peregrine XP 8x44

WhiteTail series 6x30 and 7x50

Peregrine 8x42

Predator 8x42

Hunting series 8x30

RDFinn,
How do the Nighthunter and Peregrines compare image-wise?

Assuming you're talking about the XP versions of both, the Peregrine XP is slightly sharper, but the view just looks better through the Peregrine. Hard to explain, but it just has less of a " looking into or through a binocular" type view if that sounds right. Neither have tunnel vision though. The Peregrine XP is sharper as you get closer to the edge of the view too. I think you are paying for Steiner "pulling all the stops" when they made the Peregrine XP as they didn't make a open bridge bino before this. The Peregrine XP has a magnesium chassis also and that's not cheap to make. Both have their Nano rain repellent coatings. Lastly, the Peregrine XP uses fluorite glass which adds to the cost too.

It doesn't get any better than those XP's at any price IMO.

Can't speak for their scopes, but their Peregrine XP blows my 8.5X Swaro ELs away.

Another happy Steiner owner.

Looked through a Steiner scope a guy at work has. It was bright and sunny out so I could't tell much about it's performance, but it sure looked nice. It was a 2.5-10X42mm (30mm) I think.
