Great engines, you'll love it. Sure one might get a little better mileage towing with a smaller motor, but as was said before, will pull a house off the foundation. If you're towing something better to be safe than save a few bucks.

Here's my 94' Ford C350 (1 ton) Centurion (custom 4 door Bronco) with a 460 and auto. Pulls my 22' North River like it's not even behind me.

Nice rig Wacenturion, i've been wanting one of these Fords for a long time and was waiting for the righ deal to come along. It will be nice to tow my trailer knowing I have that extra power which is lacking in my small block Dodge Ram.

If *all* you are going to tow is 6K lbs., I don't know why you would want a 460. It will do that easily, but I suspect you will regret it every time you stop to fill the tank.

Also, you will need a big drop on the tow ball.

I want this truck because I want to be able to tow my trailer with ease and hit the gas when I feel the need, knowing the power is there. As often as i'll be using it I'm not worried about having to fill it on a weekly basis. I doubt I will need a bigger drop hitch, this truck doesn't sit much higher than my Dodge.

OK. I was under the impression that your Dodge pulled fine, but you were looking for ways to improve mpg.

Drove a truck like yours that took a ton of abuse being a delivery vehicle..

Never any issues with the truck and that motor is a smooth beast.

Get it!

Good thing i'm buying this Ford, my Dodge crapped out on me this morning. One of the #5 rocker arms fell off for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. I fixed it and went to drive it and got a check engine light and OBDII codes P0123 (TPS) and P0305 (#5 misfire). Tore it apart again but didn't see anything out of place. I'm afraid I might have to remove the head and see what the valves look like. Just when I thought I had the rocker arm issues fixed it rears it's ugly head again. mad
