That is certainly some incredible shooting. Jim has been my favorite gun writer for many years. His Book of the Rifle is a classic work that every shooter should read. It IS a real classic.

A bottom feeder company like loopie finds an acorn once and awhile.
You might want to ask if the scope has been modified,say by Tucker..you know, to make the erector work...
But then, you know all about that stuff.

dave Dont know about out east but at the match's out west I have been to this year I have not seen too many Tucker conversion's but have seen many of the Bob Brackney conversion's erector locked with external micrometer's ajustment's ...sweet!!!

I agree that Savages shoot very well. I would say there are no real #1 receiver. Some used are BAT, Farley, Stiller, Kelbly Panda, Surgeon, are the most popular. They are basically Remington clones. Have to disagree a bit on this, I only own some on this list but my BAT's, Panda's and Viper action's are not Remington clones (perhaps the Surgeon is). The only thing in common is the TRIGGER design.
