with what bullet???
40-41 grns with 108 JLKs. Max in MY rifle.
WORK UP!
2950 fps, extremely accurate. No, I don`t know how far off the lands. Experiment with your rifle.
4320 and RL-15 also work very well with about the same max powder charge and bullet, in MY rifle.
Start at 39 grns and WORK UP.
Good Luck

100gn corelokts. I can not get a group to suit me w/ my favorite, RL-15. H4895 put them into tiny clusters last year, but I used it up. Thought I might try the RL-17, as I like the number system of the Reloder powders, simple.

Try 4320, 39-40 grns to start..work up. Should cronie about 3100 fps..more or less. RN or Spitzer? The 100 grn RN works real well. Hit right, you shouldn`t have any tracking..

I'd use what has worked in the past. Your rifle liked H4895 - use H4895. Seems simple enough. I agree!

I used R17 and 140 grainers in my 6.5x47 (very similar case to your 250 Ackley) it worked wonderfully. Just food for thought.

The OP mentioned core-locks, Remington. I have about two hundred of them. I don`t know if the bullet is made any more. Bought and used them in my model 20, 250-3000. My son killed his first buck with that rifle and load/bullet. I`ve killed more than several, over the years.
17 worked well with the 108 JLKs, and 117 Burger VLDs.Also 117 Nos BT. If you can get it,Ramshot Hunter gives excellent velocity with the 117 grn bullets.
