Picked up some Buffalo bore 180gr to hopefully use for deer hunting out of my 1894 357mag. Way to hot. Sticky ejection is an understatement. Shot about 8 inches high at 50 compared to the cheap S&B 158gr I was shooting.

Sucks cuz I like BB out of my 44mag and 45/70 in the past.

Oh well, it is what it is

All that "gimmick" ammo is just that, "gimmick"! Stick with standard weight/pressure ammo, it's worked for a lot longer than you've been believing everything online😉

I recently picked up a Marlin 444. The gunsmith in the shop that did the FFL transfer told me to avoid the Superperformance ammo for the same reason.

My 444 ammo is loaded a few grains less
than max because it was the most accurate
in my firearms
It's a shame that hornady decided to discontinue
sales of the component bullet and use them
exclusively in the superformance ammunition
because it's an ideal hunting bullet for 444

Different guns will always perform differently
with different ammunition. The internet and
especially yoofloob is bad about erroneous
bs when it comes to firearms and ammunition

What I don’t understand is the Hornaday reloading book.

They are using the same weapons I own to test with.

There is no way I can get anything like the powder levels they list as safe.

WWB kills deer just fine IMO.

Buffalo Bore wants $2.85 each for their hot 265 grain .44 Mag ammo. I can load a 270 grain Speer GDSP at 200 fps faster and for a fraction of that cost.
