A gentleman set a new 1000 yard range record at the January match at Bayou Rifles facility near Houston.

He shot a 600-47X.

The 10 ring is 10” and the X ring is 5”.

For all 60 shots he held sub MOA and for 47 shots he held sub 1/2 minute.

Pretty impressive equipment and shooting.
Any idea what he was shooting? Inquiring minds......
The Bayou Rifles sight list the range record for F-TR by Peter Johns set on 10-6-19 which was also 600-47X. Is this a new club record you are speaking of?? Looks like some pretty impressive shooting going on down there. I can't find a place which list their equipment/rifles/etc.

If you have the shooters name, this may provide some info their equipment used last fall in the Nationals.

Your link does not work. However the 600-47X shot on 10-6-19 was shot at 600 yards.

The score I posted about is listed in their records in F-Open shot on 1-07-24 and was shot at 1000 yards.

Pretty easy to find this stuff. Google isn't hard.
Can't believe they aren't using 180 ELDs....🤔

Eric Cortina won the SWN and Worlds this past year with the Berger 180. Bergers just shoot for raw accuracy day in and day out right out of the box.
The 7-6.5 PRCW and 180 Berger is becoming a lethal combo in F-Class i think F Class John just won a 600 yard competition with the same combo
Understood.... my comment was totally tongue in cheek 🙂, based on other's previous posts. The 180 hybrids are pretty hard to find these days due to their popularity. The 184 Hybrids shoot very well , at least as a substitute , in my .284 sling rifle. I only shoot Bergers in anything above 500 yard club level matches.

Not taking anything away from Erik, but he won the South African National Championship held just before the Worlds. The Worlds Individual Championship was won by a South African shooter with a Blake Barrel made here in Phoenix.

I stand corrected you are right about Eric at S.Africa.
I believe it was the team competition at the world.
I guess I take everything literally.

No worries. I don't shoot F Class, but tend to keep abreast of it as several local shooters are on the US Team that shot there.

Thank you Mike, I see it now. Amazing score.
It is amazing what these shooters can do at 1000!

There is a shooter from Texas that holds the High Power record for 20 shots with 200-19X. Shooting prone with a sling using iron sights at 1000 yards. That is tough also. The X Ring is 1 MOA on the HP target.

A shooter from AZ has also shot a 200-19X in the same discipline.

That's pretty doggone awesome. I used to shoot prone competitions, mostly at 600 yards. Got to "High Master" and stayed there, but never beat the really good shooters.

What barrel did he use?

Bartlein according to the linked document.
Brad Sauve recently shot a 200-18X at 1000yards on the FTR target, 18 shots into a 5" X-ring...

Matt Basalla in seasons gone by would show up,from time to time, at the Ridgway Rifle club for the 1000 yard VBR match's.1000 yard silhouette match.
He always shoots well and is one of the good guys.
I was very happy to hear he won the Fclass nationals.
