It can be done, however you are looking at $2-300 to do it, depending on your FFL fees and the shipping costs. On a Tikka rifle, it would put it higher than most would want to spend, considering most of your rifles are cheaper in the US to start with. Here is the procedure from one dealer here... Exporting Firearms to the USA Here's what you need to do to export a firearm to the United States:
-Locate an FFL (Federal Firearms License) dealer willing and licensed to import a rifle/shotgun, (we can assist with locating one, if need be). -Apply for ATF form 6 and 6a approval through the FFL dealer. Note: Most dealers will charge $50 to $80 for this service. -Wait for the ATF to approve the permit. This can take anywhere from 12 to 30 weeks. -Send the approved permit to us. We will then send it to the Canadian government with our application for export and de-registration. This typically takes 2-6 weeks. There is a CAD $50.00 charge for this service, plus CAD $35.00 for Prohibited firearms. -At this point, the firearm can now be shipped to the US. Unfortunately, US law requires that the firearm be shipped by air, which will typically cost $95.00 for a handgun, and $160.00 for a rifle or shotgun. Note: The ATF dealer must be willing to pick up the parcel at his or her nearest International airport
Due to the timeframe involved, we must insist on full payment for the firearm before the export process will commence.

Wow, what a process. So in only 6-9 months and probably well in excess of $1000, you too can have a Tikka Forest. Just in time for deer season 2013... Ouch. Perhaps that Vanguard project is looking pretty sweet right about now.

I could get someone close to that. I have a T3 Hunter Deluxe with DNZ base/rings and a new Leupold VX-II 3-9X40 on it. It just sits in the safe. Under 1K and in time for 2012 deer season.

The pieced together 708 Tikka Hunter I offered you is a hammer. I shot it this past weekend.
