Rifle is great condition. Used so handling marks on the stock. Bluing in great condition. Muzzle bluing shows wear. Original front and rear sight attached. Etched number on bolt matched serial number which is 230xxx. Bore is shiny and rifling is crisp. Bolt face indicates very low round count.

$559
I just picked up one similar to it on GB last week for $605 but it was $700 once it got into my hands. It is a 1972 700 BDL also in 30-06. It has the second generation pressed checkering. Yours has the original. The metal will be all the same. Mine still has the safety/bolt lock so the trigger recall was never done. It sounds like yours is similar in condition as well. You can tell mine has been carried but rarely shot. The barrel looks incredible for an old rifle.

Gunbroker Listing: Remington 700 BDL 30-06

$700ish depending on details of condition. Early Remington, short bolt shroud tombstone safety, some prefer these over newer rifles. If it were any other chambering might bring more. You couldn’t give away a 700 30-06 10 yrs ago. Now they are bringing double $.
600, maybe 700 depending g on how many marks on the stock
Any other opinions? Probably will list for $875 shipped.
500.00 Very common caliber, bought one just like it on here three years ago for 400 shipped!

Opinions? No one has offered anywhere near 875, even shipped, for this as a value. At your price, after transfer, the buyer is at 900... And the values offered were 500-700.

But it has crisp rifling!
I was watching BDL's and ADL's on Gunbroker for a while in mostly 30-06s and 270s for a possible donor for a rifle build, but also other cartridge's. I liked the older stocks on the 60s and 70s models but they didn't seem to get any more than one from the 80s or 90s from what I saw. '06's are very common which is probably why. Different or rare cartridges got much more. $600-700ish is about right from most of what I saw. Some asking more on GB, but can't say if they are getting it.
It would sell for more on GunBroker than it will on here. If you get 500 here you’ll be fortunate. You can start at 875, lower price if necessary

That's the truth, but fees will kill you, plus that tax bill comes!
Well that generated more opinions. That’s good. I love the “I bought one 3 years ago…..”. I did too. Have 1960s Remington 700 BDLs in .22-250 (Varmint barrel), .243, .270 and .30-06. Since Remingtons bankruptcy, prices have seemed to double if not triple. Need to sell this one (as I already have a.30-06 in this exact configuration) to fund the start of an M40 build. Thanks for all the replies. Those that were helpful and those that were not.
Not sure the worth but that is old school cool.

1967 manufacture date. That’s the year range on the first deer rifle I ever bought. It was a .30-06 Remington 700 BDL. Identical twin to the one I May list. I fell in love with the aluminum butt plate, plain bolt, fleur de lis checkering (I know it’s pressed and not hand done) and hooded front sight. Decided to collect them.
Make sure you take off those hillbilly see-thru scopemounts!

I agree. That’s what was on it when I bought it. Never used them, nor would I.
They were big in PA during driven deer hunts, but mostly on Remington pump rifles....the old Amish Machine Guns :-)
Good luck, it's a fine rifle had I not found one, I'd be interested.
I would put it on Gun Broker for top dollar. Likely to get $800 plus in that condition. Yes there are fees and may be tax depending on where it ships to. You don't pay the tax the buyer does.
I too got a chuckle from the "bought one three years ago". I bought a new rifle three years ago for $550. Put it on Gunbroker last week starting at .01. It's at $1600 right now with some time left. So in a lot of cases bought three years ago doesn't mean much when figuring value.
