So I looked on gunbroker and saw a used Remington 11-87 youth 20 gauge box included with 23 bids at $1150.00. I went a pulled one out of the safe and can’t figure out why it would go for that. Are they actually going for that or is this one of the gunbroker owner run ups? Just a blue synthetic youth model.

Everything Remington is sky high since Remington's bankruptcy a couple years ago. The new RemArms is apparently not producing 11-87's 20's yet, as I don't see any in stock anywhere. Used 20 gauges have always brought a premium over 12's, but not that much for black synthetic.

I happen to have a NIB one in my closet id sell for 1000 bucks no problem.

I don’t think they’ve made them in quite a while, thus the rich pricing. The are an ideal shotgun for a youth IMHO. My 16 year old son would agree, although he has now moved on to a 12 gauge.

I had one I bought during the Walmart sales, paid $125.00 for it. I had it drilled and tapped, then mounted a turkey plex scope on it.

Other than sighting in, I've never shot or hunted with it. My SIL however, has killed the snot out of turkeys with it. For this past Christsmas, I had the stock painted woodland camo and gave it to the SIL. My grandson is turning 12 and this will be his first year turkey hunting. That might have been on my mind when I gifted it.

I wouldn't have paid a grand for it, but it's a heck of a nice little shotgun.

Action bars on them are made out of glass! No, I take that back, they are made out of poured pot metal which is even worse than glass for breaking! I had one all set up for turkey hunting and it broke when I loaded it last week in AL. I managed to kill a bird with the only shell I could get in it. After that I had to finish the hunt with a borrowed gun. It wasn't the rails that broke, it was the block itself that the charge handle locks into.
Once I got home I ordered a Retay and gave this broke Remington to my son, who already has 2 of them, one of which is also broken down.

I have several thousand rounds through the one I bought when Walmart was clearing them out years ago. Dead reliable, and fits in my T-Rex arms perfectly.
