I am very happy with the Swarovski Z3 4-12x50 BT 4W I have on my Fieldcraft 270 and am thinking of using a Z5 2.4-12x50 for my NULA 30-06.

Leaving the wide open west hunting I have been doing and moving back home to PA I think the 2.4x should be great in the thick woods.

Anyone using one?
I purchased one back when they first came out, it has the BRH reticle. I could take or leave the BRH but the rest of the scope is well done. It is all you need in lowlight and mine, it has been on 240 and 270 Weatherby rifles. Optically it is one of the brighter Swaro scopes I have owned.
The Z5 series is a more robust scope than the Z3 series. Z5 uses 4 coil springs in the erector rather than the 2 leaf springs in the Z3. The Z5 the OP mentions also has more elevation adjustment by almost 2x than the Z3.
Thanks for the input, I just ordered one for my NULA 30-06.

I know what you mean, I had BRH on a Z5 3.5-18x44 I did not like it. I have several Z3 3.5-10x42 that I can tolerate the BRH but I am trading them for scopes with the BT / 4W.
Only thing I didn’t like was no side focus, prefer the 3.5-18 z5.

Almost impossible to find a 12x at the top end Euro scope with side focus. The other plus of this particular Z5 2.4-12 is it has almost twice the W/E adjustments of the rest of the Z5 series.
Leica was about the only one I have seen, they had side focus on their ER5 2.5-10 50 mm which was interesting. I think this 2.4 -12 z5 is mil clicks vs moa like the other z5s. I had both at the same time on guns, both good glass.
The 2.4-12 is MOA clicks. I just got rid of one. Liked it a lot, just preferred MILs.
That is it, I know one was mils and one was moa. I have to much glass.
i have the 4x12x50 on my NULA .308. ballistic turret. no problem ringing steel out to 500.brilliant optics. don't miss the parallax adj.

great HUNTING scope.
