Has anyone run a chrono on this out of a 16"barrel with a 1-7 twist
I know someone has run the velocity on this set up...
I have some numbers from some loads that I was working up a few years ago. It was 1:8 barrel. I’m out of town for the week. I’ll try to remember to post them this coming weekend. It may help get you in the ballpark.

the factory loads work well on all my stuff... I just am thinking that my actual velocity is 2600-2700fps just doing the backwards calculations of bullet drop from 100 yards to 200 yards...

I'm getting just under 2700 fps from a 16" 1 in 7
2750 from a 18" 1 in 8

This is from some overrun contract ammo but it should be the same as the 62 fed fusion or 62 speer gold dot load

Thanks Dude... that confirms my suspicion. I'm going to load up some hotter stuff when I run through the last few boxes of my hunting fodder.
Are the fusion and gold dot bullets identical?

To the best of my knowledge, yes
I extrapolated backwards with the 100 yard being high about 3 inches and 200 yard zero. I figured I would be about 12inches low at 300. Had a giant boar step out behind the 273 yard feeder at 6:25 last night and held 2" above his head. Lazered at 282 yards and he never moved.

I would not have shot that distance if there had been any wind...
