Rejoice with me.

My gunsmith called yesterday to let me know in my rifle, that was supposed to be ready for last hunting season, is now ready to be shipped.

It has a Pierced titanium action with Wyatt box chambered in .338 RUM necked to 7mm using 7Rum brass (for a. 100" longer neck), Proof research carbon barrel 26", a titanium muzzle brake, Trigger tech trigger (set at 20 ounces), Jack Kiester carbon stock, Talley light rings, and a March 2 1/2-25X52 scope.

I have three weights of bullets to try: 120, 130, and 140. I hope it shoots as good as my Savage .223 with the Tasco 6-24X.

With that much grunt in the case, why such light bullets and not go heavy/high BC?

My strong suite is ignorance. I love velocity so I used ignorant prejudice in my decision.

Hope you are satisfied.

I got brain freeze just reading the description. Won't find those at Wally World! Better than a Savage with a Tasco?....Pretty tall order......you might not have spent enough money for that...

Riverton,

That Savage is the most accurate rifle I ever owned: Ten shots at 200 yards in 7/8". Maybe if it had a "good" scope it would shoot better.

I won't fire the new one like that. At most it will fire three shots and call it good.

Good bear gun Rich.

Iā€™d think that a 140 or 150 TSX - TTSX would be enough muscle for anything. I hope you post some pictures and keep us updated on how it shoots. Enjoy your new build and I hope you have many great hunts with countless wonderful memories made. šŸ‘
Why not just build a .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer?

Thank you. All three bullets are Hammer Hunters. They weigh 120 grains, 131 grains, and 143 grains. I used them in 6.5mm and 8mm so far with fantastic results.
