Twizzlers taste like someone was vaguely thinking of cherries whilst melting plastic bags into a pasta noodle press.

These bad boys are the ones you want. They're still plasticky and make you feel like crap if you eat more than a couple, but they taste good.

Red Vines

Yup. Good choice. Several companies make old style red licorice that are good. Not traditional, buy Wiley Wallaby might be king of the hill.

The regular flavor licorice sticks work great for baiting deer.
