wabigoon;
Top of the morning to you sir, I see you've got winter where you're at this fine, frosty first Sunday in December.
Thanks to Sam once again for the interesting reading and viewing that the thread has produced, I've rather enjoyed it.
Since the early days on the farm, we had overall good success with Cummins engines, so I spent some time researching and figured I wanted a 2003 to 2004½ Ram pickup. Thus after about 6-8 months of looking for what I thought would be the best of an admittedly flawed situation that in early 2009 I announced to my mechanic Cory, "I've got some good news and some bad news.... I finally got a Cummins.."
To which he replied, "Oh I know what the bad news is Dwayne, it's being held by a Dodge!"
That part's sorta held to be true wabigoon, as in the past nearly 10 years we've stuck about $1000 CDN a year into keeping the Dodge parts on the road. Haven't touched the Cummins other than Fleetmaster filters and full synthetic Rotella.
Here it is in the early days before the canopy and boat rack were added.
Here's a couple years back, doing the same duties.
Funny how tasks like hauling bales when we had horses or hauling firewood is an ongoing and seemingly never ending activity isn't it? Much like house renos in that regard wabigoon....
Of course since it's ours, it goes hunting too and back before the last couple winters thinned our deer herd out we were still able to do this once in awhile.
Thanks again to all for sharing and all the best to you all as we head into the Christmas Season.
Dwayne
