I installed Mcarbo trigger spring kits in two Model 70s. The 1974 vintage rifle dropped from 5.5lbs to 2. The 1968 vintage rifle dropped from 5lbs to 1. I’m a little uncomfortable with one on a hunting rifle. I thought about putting one of the lock nuts on the spring side. Any thoughts?

no experience with that style of trigger, so i might be talking out my ass?... But, you might be able to shim it, or try carefully stretching the spring to increase it's length a little bit until you get to where you want to be...

I put one lock nut under the spring and that brought it up to nearly 2. I may add a washer. It’s pretty nice with no creep and over travel is undetectable.

Two thin washers under the lock nut on the spring side brought it up to 2 1/4lbs.
