Cleaning some of the mess, and amazing what ya find. grin

This is just a sampling... found that I have enough Speer 87gr Hot Cores to last me until I die. Loaded up odd boxes of bullets into a tub for the garage and that just about gave me a hernia...

Nice collection of 410 barrels.
A candidate for Savage Anonymous for sure.

Eh, not such a bad habit.
Rory, what are those sling swivels off?

Good question. They are 7/8" swivels, but not 99RS swivels. I picked them up at Tulsa thinking they'd look good on a Model 19 or 23 with a vintage sling, maybe.

Gene will probably be along with the answer shortly
very nice stuff.
Rory, I got these on a 243 R. How do you measure them to know they are correct?

I'd have to have that 243 R for a while to be sure if they are Savage or not.. maybe 5 or 10 years. grin

I wouldn't surprised if the same company made almost all of those hook swivels and the different gun companies just resold them. I also wouldn't be surprised if they changed over the years, I see them listed from 1948 through at least the early 60's.

This picture below is from the Savage catalogs, mid-1950's.

Mine are very much like the catalog pictures, with the end point of the hook about 3/4ths of the way towards the swivel. The end point on yours is farther down near the swivel.. whether that means anything, I couldn't tell you.

I would be jealous of that pile if I didn't have bigger ones. laugh laugh laugh
If you are digging through piles of stuff and find stuff you didnt know you had amongst all the other stuff, you may have a bit too much stuff 😜🤣
yep
Nope.. it's just a question of not being organized enough. Not too much stuff. grin

Though I think I'll hold off on buying any more buttplates for a while.
I don't have anything cool like 410 barrels. I'd like just one but I'm not paying what they usually go for. Hell, I haven't bought a 99 in a long time because they're so expensive now. I did find a box of Stith mounts and Lyman peep sights I forgot that I had, which was a pleasant surprise.
Hey Jim.. I found the box!

Ready for the tiger invasion.. all boxes are 22HP..

If they kill tigers, they should kill the Canadian super pigs. So you're set for that. They've supposedly already made their way into Minnesota. Seems like a valid reason for me to buy a 22HP.
I'm not sure i'll be fully prepared until I have a 99T in 22HP.. but I've got a couple 1899H's, a 99G, a 99EG.. I'll probably muddle thru.
My collection of stuff I don't know I have isn't this neat! My stuff is mostly junk it seems.
If you interested in parting ways with some of the 87 grn Hot Cor’s let me know. I am always on the the hunt for them for my 250 Sav. 1-14 twist 99
Thanks, Happy New year!
