Here's my Brno Effect in 308. It's an excellent shooter. Had a smith rework the buttstock and make me a beefier forend to accommodate my large hands. I can't stand grabbing the barrel. It points and handles really well now. They don't make them anymore, but I would fancy another one 7x57 or 8x57.

A lovely rifle! I kick myself for not buying one when they were available.

I had a custom steel grip cap and buttplate fitted, color case hardened. There's now zero plastic, aluminum, rubber or glass bedding. Just hardened blued steel and walnut. 5.9 pounds loaded.

I also bought a beautiful buffalo hide leather sling made by the Amish. I have to dig it out of my gun room.

with a broken firing pin!

that will be a fall project for me and a friend with a lathe....

Nice. 243 is another favorite of mine. I might get a few extra pins made myself... Just in case.

Had one in '06 for a while. It was the full stocked version and, to my eye, just looked too long. If the barrel had been about 20" or so with the full stock, it would have looked about right. Anyway, I had FTF issues with mine and only so-so accuracy, so it went down the road.

If I could get my hands on one in 7X57R or other Euro rimmed cartridge, I'd jump at it!

That really is a handsome rifle. A touch envious here!

Thanks. I just got it ready for outdoor use. I did 1 to 2 coats of Tru-Oil over the Jim Chambers oil finish. A nice hard satin finish that really resists moisture and normal use. Just enough gloss for my liking. It was a real journey to get it to this form!
