Do you know the actual volume (grs/H2O) of your brass?
No I do not know sorry.
It’s a 22” barrel
You post like there is something different about Alpha brass. I was just wondering.

Curious about this myself. I would assume QuickLoad takes into account differences in interior volume of different brass manufacturers, possibly why he is giving the most amount of info possible.

QL has a default volume for each case that is listed in the database. That default volume may or may not be the same for the cases a user has. Case volume is an adjustable value, which helps refine QL's results. That's the reason I asked the question about the Alpha brass.
Or he can do as the rest of us do...start with a low load and work it up in his rifle.

Good advice. QL gets you in the ballpark but not around the bases.
Hi. I just wanted to say thank you for doing this for me. I spent all day at the range yesterday and ended the day on a great note with something to work off. My Remington 7mm-08 is probably close to 25 years old if I was to guess. It’s definitely never been the most accurate gun. My cousin who is into reloading and has everything suggested I might get better accuracy out of it if I tried loading some different combinations so of course I was all in ti do it. I had been shooting factory Hornady 139 grain interlock whitetail ammunition. I’ve killed a lot of big bucks in Maine with them and love their performance on deer just not the most accurate out of my gun. If I could find a more accurate combination using the 139 bullet that would be excellent. After trying many combinations using Big Game and Varget using 120 Nosler BT and Hornady 139 Interlock still nothing was shooting to great until our way out of the range yesterday afternoon. I tried Staball 6.5 with 120BT awful and I loaded some Staball 6.5 with the 139 and WOW. They were shooting very nice groups at 48.5, 49, and 49.5. Even better we tested the factory ammo through the chronograph and I was at 2,609, 2594,2594. When I was shooting Staball at 49 grains I was averaging 2,840 FPS then just going up to 49.5 grains I was averaging 2,950 FPS I thought that was crazy it went up 110FPS faster. I was only using the Federal 210 primers and not the Magnums. I was told that for hunting in cold weather I might be better off using the Magnum primers.
According to the chart I can still push it a little more but I don’t know if I dare. At those speeds with compared to factory that I was smoking deer with this sounds like even a deadlier combination. Thanks for all the help. I’ll keep you posted on the next range session.
My pleasure, all the best with your endeavours.
