Like the title says I'd like to find one in the spring time and also in Pennsylvania would be a plus. But not afraid to travel a bit for good field bloodlines that are very versatile and smart. Any heads up would be appreciated you can put it on here or shoot me a pm.

Thanks Pat
Saw some drahts coming up in SD this spring. If not too far shoot me a pm.
Better get on a list right NOW!
Good Wirehairs can be found in many places all over the country.

Excellent Wirehairs can only be found at Reece Kennels in Polk City Florida
I'll have to check them Reece kennels

Not sure about that.
Lots of outstanding dogs from good kennels all across the US.
Find one that hunts and trains dogs, not just breeding. NAVHDA is a good place to start.

I have to admit that it was a biased opinion because that's where my GWPs come from. But NAVHDA plays a big part in their breeding program. They are also very active in the show ring with dogs out of their lines placing high in a lot of big shows. The mother of my GWP in my avatar picture took best in show at Westminster several years ago and this pup of hers is the birdiest dog I've ever chased through the brush.

Completely happy with their dogs.

Call Donny Zarra in PGH. I've had one of his DD's for almost 9 years.

Love drahts but I believe that I am fully in the Pudelpointer camp now. The natural ability of my one year old pup has blown my expectations out of the water. Maybe a breed to consider if you can't find a draht breeder that can accommodate you.

Yea IF your emphasis is on AKC SHOW dogs. I'd take a DD over a show wirehair any day of the week!

Look them up.

You never see Drahts in the ring because they aren't recognized by AKC. Actually we are talking about two different breeds of dogs here. But so similar that they share just about everything but the name.

But then again, "Deutsche Drahthaar" is "German Wire hair" in German

Oly, My first Draht who is fifteen and retired. He is registered with NAVHDA but never field trialed. He came from Orion Kennels in Caldwell ID.

Aero my GWP came from Reece three years ago. He spent some time in the ring

Now he has to work for a living
