The barrel is from a 1957-1959 Browning Safari Small Ring Short Action Mauser, that Browning only made for a couple of years before going to the Sako L579 actions for the medium size actions. The barrel is even more rare since it is also a “Pencil Weight “ barrel. The factory barrel is chambered in .243 Winchester. Great barrel for a Browning Belgium Mauser Medium Action replacement, restoration, backup barrel for future use, or medium action cartridge switch. I have one of these svelte little Small Ring Browning Safari rifles in 250 Savage and it’s one of my favorites .
