Finally broke mine. Internet search yields no replacements. What are my options?

A M16 extractor is an option if you don’t care about escape gases getting into your eyes.

If your 721 is chambered for a magnum cartridge extractors can be found. 30-06 size extractors are difficult to find.

You can use a 700 long action bolt in your 721. Sometimes a beat up 700 30-06 comes up for sale pretty cheap. 722 small cartridge extractors are also not hard to find.

The other option is gunsmiths may have what you’re looking for.

By your name it appears you are in WY, correct?

There’s a fellow out that way that has stuff for the 721’s and 722’s . If I can remember, I’ll call the local smith and see if he’ll give me the name and number .

I'd be interested in that as well. Have a 721 here in 300magnum. Is working fine for now.

Both magnum and standard caliber 721/722 extractors show up regularly on eBay…..$35.00 and up.

SuperCub;
Top of the morning to you my friend, I hope the day is treating you well so far.

When I was chatting with a local gunsmith who does a bunch of work with 700 actions, he said that his go to when working on 721/722 actions is to drill a small hole needed for the rivet and then install a 700 extractor.

He told me that he had done both Sako and AR type extractor conversions, but he'd found it simpler and easier to tune a 700 extractor install.

Hopefully that made sense and was useful to you or someone out there.

All the best to you all and good luck on your hunts this fall.

Dwayne

M-16 extractor is the way to go.

Had 4 721s done, never an issue.

Lose your eye sight if you blow a primer but what the heck. If that’s not important to you.

And how is it different than a vanguard with the same extractor? Or Howa? Or nosler?

If you shoot w/o eye protection, losing an eye is the least of your problems.

You probably voted for Biden as well.

That's a dumb fuucking analog to suggest.
