Saddle Mountain skinner 15001-1 S30V steel, G10 handle and factory kydex sheath. Factory edge never sharpened. Used to skin one elk and it still shaves hair on my arm (I washed it after shaving). $160 shipped.
Griptilian 154CM steel. Factory edge never sharpened. Used on the same elk and it still shaves hair on my arm (yes, I also washed it) $125 Shipped.

No boxes as these were going to be my forever knives. However, with lots of time in retirement I am getting nostalgic and am using the knives I started hunting with 40 years ago.

Just curious why you used both knives on the same elk?

Use two cause I'm a bit anal. Always take two on a hunt. Used the Griptillian to cut the hide along the back and down the legs. Then the skinner to skin it gutless method. Probably easier/better ways but that's what works for me.

Griptillian is a great knife. Is that the mini one or full size?
