Has that infamous vessel waited over a hundred years to claim some more victims? Who would spend thousands of dollars to tempt fate by visiting that wreck site?

The real question is:

"Whom was on the Sub that the One-Worlders wanted eliminated?"

Biden was meeting with Xi on it. Well, at least that would make today a real holiday

Even if they find it soon and they are still alive. Can they actually mount any kind of rescue?

Titanic tourist submersible goes missing with search under way

A submersible craft used to take people to see the wreck of the Titanic has gone missing in the Atlantic Ocean with its crew on board, sparking a major search and rescue operation.

Tour firm OceanGate, which runs $250,000-a-seat expeditions to the wreck, said it was exploring all options to get the crew back safely.

Old USN submariner here.

Going beneath the surface of the ocean is dangerous. Whether it's 100' or 10,000', there is inherent danger in doing so. The deeper you are, the more dangerous it is, exponentially.

Too many people have lost all perspective of risk. Blind faith in technology (it can fail), blind faith in other humans (obviously they can fail, and do so all the time), and blind faith in danger denial (I'll go downtown to eat and drink, even though I'll be wallking around after dark in/near a high crime area, it'll be fine) have led to people making many foolish decisions for their entertainment and egos.

Whomever thought this was a good idea was in complete denial of risk. Everyone involved. The business ownership group, the employees, and the customers.

A tragic incident was pretty much inevitable. With only 96 hours of oxygen on board, any salvage operation will be a recovery, not a rescue mision.

Godspeed to everyone on board.

Worse than that. I had a buddy that I used to deploy out of subs with have an embolism in 10’ of water after a massive wave went over. Water is dangerous even in a bath tub. I had a couple of troops that after going through underwater egress wanted to give it all up.

It supposedly had a mechanism that made it automatically surface in case of a technical glitch.

The Coast Guard says there are five people on board, consisting of one crew member and 4 "mission specialists." They are currently conducting an air search for the vehicle, as it is designed to surface automatically if there are technical issues.
What kind of internal pressure does it have? Do they require decompression time when it comes up?

I would imagine it would have to come up slowly in any event at 12,500 feet

There is a WW2 era sub you can tour at Charleston, SC. After a very quick walk through it, I concluded there was no way in hell I’d ever get in one and allow someone to close the hatch, let alone crank it. In fact, I have no further plans to ever walk through another one.

NOt a place to be if you have claustrophobia . I cannot believe how small those subs are compared to modern day Nuclear subs. I have seen 2 of them surface off the coast of FL when out fishing and it was impressive.

I've got a sinking feeling about this.
