Hello all!
I'm finally in possession of some of the Nosler 64 grain bonded solid base bullets in 22 caliber. Will a 12" twist stabilize these bullets or is a faster twist required. I would like to shoot them in my Remington BDL 12-twist sporter if they have worked for others in this application.
Thanks for any help,
Rick

They did for me at 1200' above sea level. Ruger No.1V. Varget & CFE 223 as I recall.

I was never able to get decent accuracy with that bullet. I used 24 grs. IMR4064. In a 1 in 9" CZ527 , it did 1.1", Ruger MKII 1in 12", 1.6", Savage 12 VLP-DBM 1 in 9", 1.7", and in an FN Mauser with 1 in 14" barrel, 1.6". All five-shot 100 yard groups. However, this bullet was more accurate than the Winchester 64 gr. Power Point in three out of the four rifles, the Savage being the (slight) exception.

I was shooting them out of a 12 twist .223AI and they stabilized just fine, trouble was the accuracy..1.25 moa was the norm out of a rifle that shoots most anything else into .5moa.

Granted 1.25-1.5 is just fine for deer hunting, it just wasn't fine enough for me.

In addition to my above post where I shot them in bolt-action .223s, I tried them in a 1 in 7" Colt AR. Didn't do well in that one either. Far more accurate bullets out there.

I bought Shortactionsmoker’s T3 Lite stainless several years ago after he did load workup with it using the 64 BSB. 1-10”, though. 3006 fps mv and great accuracy.

Pharmseller, what powder did SAS use in his load? I’d also be interested in charge weight if you’d be willing to give it. You can PM me if you’d like.

Thanks.

They shoot fine in my 1 in 12 Tikka T3 (one of the early ones). I'm using 25 grains of ADI 2206H (identical to H4895)
