Use whatever you have.

Phil, I've been using CCI 200s with 66 grains of Big Game and Nosler Partitions. It's a great load, just a bit over 2400 in my 20.5 barrel. Does brown bears and lesser critters no good at all.

Somebody once said the 9.3x62 is like a big .308 Winchester: Just about anything shoots well.

I'll have to 2nd, 3rd? Re15, shooting both the Speer 270 gr and Norma 285 58 grains shot one 3 shot group into one hole, but mostly right around 1/2-5/8" 3 shot groups. A great caliber!!! Good luck and good shooting. Enjoy that 9.3x62! Terry

+1

Using H4895 Hodgdon suggests 51-57 grains of powder for the 250 TSX bullets.

I'm looking forward to reloading for this cartridge. I bought two batches of Norma and Przvi Partisan factory ammo (100 of each) with 285/6 grain bullets. Each batch is so inconsistent with bullet seating depth that I look at them in wonder. They are the least consistent factory ammo I have ever encountered. My current plan is to pull them all and then reload them. But down the road I am excited about the variety of 250-grain bullets. And I was excited to read that the ever versatile 4064 seems to work well with it, since I have a lot of that on hand. I only plan on hunting thin-skinned game for the time being.

mrfudd,

I recognize that this is a serious necropost, but you are still active around here. Do you mind sharing the load that you settled on for this combination?
