Got to wear 400sg inches min (vest would be min) on body + whole hat, of HO, to be legal here. Same requirements here, since the weather varies so much, I have coat, vest, long sleeve and short sleeve tee shirts plus cold and warm weather caps. Layers work.

Have Two orange vests, irregularly slashed vertically into strips.
One is worn, the other is draped/tied over the field pack.
Also loosely weave orange marker tape through the loops in my boonie hat.
Woods, thickets, tree stands, and still hunting.

A hat meets the minimum requirement here and that is what I wear. I am the only one on the land. If I was hunting elsewhere I would have 250sq inches all over my pack in addition to the hat cuz I don’t know who else is out there.

I’m generally not super picky especially if I’m going to be in a high stand where I don’t think it’ll be very important what I’m wearing. My blaze orange gear is usually intended for walking from one destination to another during deer season so I’m more concerned about what hunters see and less about what the deer see. I have an insulated puffy jacket from Haglöfs in Sweden for cold days: Here I’m doing a bit of squirrel hunting with a pneumatic rifle in a WMA I don’t expect deer hunters to be in (centerfire rifles prohibited area). I still want to be safe because I’m on the ground so I have on a Primos vest: A 50k trail run sweatshirt & a Carhartt beanie. I shot a deer at 156 yards a few minutes after taking this photo: One camp fire spark on that jacket, and it's drop and roll brrother!🤔

Bought a used Cabela's pack vest, solid orange, on eBay a couple of years ago. Love it. No longer burdened with a day pack.
Too bad they no longer make it but, hey, that's Bass Pro for ya'.

I wear both only because my vest has a bunch of pockets. I also wear an orange hat.
You ain't about that life.

I wear a light vest. Makes it easier to adjust. It fits over everything from a t-shirt to a heavy coat.
