Anyone here using an aero solus action yet? I use a lot of aero AR stuff and I've had good luck with it. I looked at their Solus last year and liked that it could take shouldered profits made for the bighorn origin. However I like a more open top hunting style action.

I called aero and spoke with one of their techs for a while and told him I'd like to see a lighter weight more open top action like a defiance anti. They said they'd talk the idea over and took some notes of my suggestions.

They just sent me an email telling me to check out their new solus lightweight. It looks like they got the port the way I want it. Hopefully it has a flatter ejection angle too to get under windage turrets. It doesn't look like they gave it feedlips to run bdl style but it is said to handle 3" load lengths so that's good.

It's priced pretty well and aero seems to often have deals with good discounts. I'll be watching for their next 20-30% off deal.

I think Brownells was having a sale on whatever action they carry. Have a friend building a rifle on it. Right hand only. Might be worth a look.

Aero has a proprietary action wrench that you have to buy. Kind of a dick move on their part but... It's only money.

I have a couple and will have more

AICS or Hawkins M5 Hunter DBM style mags to center feed. Waiting for Manner's to finish my stocks so I can get on with these projects.

I'd like to see the next version have feed rails. I still like a bdl mag box/floorplate on a hunting rifle. I've been eyeing the kelbly nanook I'm just hesitant because it's got an m16 style extractor.

Sorry, that was a rather lame post. The action my friend is using is the Kelby’s. They did have it on sale.
