Well despite all the nasty weather we've been having I finally drove over to the gun club to see that they had plowed it out at least enough so that I could get in there.

Wind was down, but still about 5 mph, with a air temp of 12 F. Not the best weather for accuracy shooting but you play the hand that's dealt ya...

I had loaded up some 70 gr Blitzkings over a charge of H414 just to zero the rifle and break it in.

Cleaned the barrel after each of the first five shots. I get the rifle zeroed in fairly quickly about 3" high at 100 yards. Should serve me well at most any Coyote I want to take a shot at.

I shoot my fourth to last round of the day, make a final scope adjustment, and fire another round. Looks right about where I want it. So I fire two more rounds to get a three shot group to see where I'm at groupwise......not bad .612" under these conditions shows great promise for this rifle!

Here's a pic...

Now I'll just keep playing with powder charges, and different bullets, etc. to see where she really shines!!!

I had close to 150 rounds down the tube before I started getting that happy, I'd say you are off to a really good start!!

Congrats!!

Thanks Dave! I must admit I was filled with a little dread having read all of your posts about your rifle. However I feel much better about it after this first range session....

Now just need to test different loads! grin

I think my round count is around 14 at the moment. It was not very far off the paper on teh first shot so made it much easier!

I'm really anxious for at least 20 above zero temps & calm winds one of these days ... and no snow falling out of the sky...

is that so much to ask? smile
