Got off work tonight at 5:30, sunset is about 6:15. I had time for a stand, so I get to thinking on the way home. Head to a place I hadn't called yet. I get set up and blow on the call, wait about 5 min and blow again. Wait another 5 min and I see something moving about 400 yds away. Pull up the rifle and see that it is 2 coyotes. They are just standing there and then looked like they were playing, nipping at each other (duh was a male & a female). I blow on the coaxer and here they come. I have the rifle laying across the top of a haybale and am watching them in the scope. When the close on is at 35 yards I whistle and it stops. I shot and down it goes. The other takes of running and I am busy reloading the rifle. Pull up and get the 2nd one at about 140 yards on the run. The first one was the female, 2nd was the male.
After shooting the 2nd one, I see another one that was further to the west ( I was looking toward north) and take a GTH shot at it.
This was the first time I have ever shot a double on one stand.
