Does anyone have any data or Balistic figures and M.E,down range energy of the Weatherby 500WM. Bruce Bertram is making the brass for it but I cannot find any data on it. Seems to have skimmed the belt down, basicaly a 460 blown to 50 cal missing the sharp shoulder of the typical Weatherby round. Thank you.

that sounds very much like the 500 A-Square No it's not, it's actually quite different. I was half tempted to send some Bertram brass to Manson to have a reamer cut specifically for it ... lucky I'm really broke. The brass I thought would be a 'generic' 50/460Wby usable in any 460 based wildcat. It's actually quite a bit shorter as I grabbed some sample 500Wby and 460Wby to compare. Cheers... Con

I would not build a rifle that I had to use Bertram brass for.
I'd also opt for the 500 A-square, if you're going to go for a 50, might as well use a case at least as big as a necked up 460.

I wish Weatherby would chamber this round and legitimize it.
