I have played around with a couple AR platform rifle. But I endedn up selling both.
Looking for opinions on 6.8 vs 7mm-08 platform.
Which brands are best? What is the best reference on building your own?
I think I would get more satisfaction if I could "do it myself".
I want it to be a tack driver, collapsable stock, optics only, lightweight for the platform. I realize there are certain limitations on this.
But just researching, as I am going to have one in the next 6 months.
What I am looking for is a fairly lightweight AR style hunting rifle.
I like the 6.8 because it is a 277 caliber. I like the 7mm-08 as I think of it as a short 270.
So if any of you would care to share some information, I would really appreciate it.

If you decide to go 6.8, here's a good one that is light and sports a match grade barrel. http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bi...age=1&search=&since=&status=I'm trying to decide on this one or one in 223, if ammo wasn't such a concern I'd look real hard at the 6.8 and may anyway.

The AR-15 6.8 you can get in a lighter package and plenty of power out to maybe 300 yards and i did say maybe depending on the shooter and the 7mm-08 is going to be heavier in the AR-10 but it give you more power and a heavier bullet at longer ranges. They will both serve you well. Your decision.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.
