Hi guys,
I need to change a spring in a model 70 crf bolt. I know how to do the first step by leaving the saftey in the middle position and backing out the firing pin. Once the firing pin is out, what is the next step? Do I need a special tool release the tension on the spring? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could explain this to me.
Thankyou

Press in on the bolt shroud latch button and unscrew the firing pin assembly and remove from the bolt. Place the tip of the firing pin against a beat up wooden bench and move the safety lever forward to release the firing pin and spring tension. With the tension released, place the rear of the firing pin against the table. With the tip of the firing pin pointing straight up, grasp the firing pin spring retainer/collar between your index finger and thumb and while pulling it down to compress the spring, rotate the collar 90 degrees. Carefully release the spring tension and slide the collar and the spring forward off the firing pin. Reassemble in reverse.
