White one?

Never saw one of those in a catalog.

What's the story?

My first time to see a white 66.

Guessed I missed out on those.

Wonder how rare they are?

The Nylon 66 was hugely successful, I wonder why that idea never spread any further? Those are really great little rifles and they weigh NOTHING.

Well they did climb for a while up through last year. Not much is climbing any more, even for guns. Biggest market is us old coggers reliving our youth. I have seen prices going down the last couple of months. Almost affordable now. Great little rifles. I think they might shoot forever.

I know a guy who bought a lever for 100 bucks, I think it was green or maybe brown. Anyways I had looked at it 4 or 5 times at the gun shop but didn't know what it was. This was about 15 years ago. Another life regret.

The Nylon 76 lever gun lists in Blue Book for $700 @ 100%.

There was a rare Black/Chrome Model 76, now lists for $1,250 @ 100%.

That "C" note has grown...

They also made bolt actions in that style, tube, DM and single shot. The single shot was also available in a smoothbore version for using .22 lr shot shells to shoot the little mini-clay birds. I always lusted after one as a kid in the 60's, but never got one until a few years ago.

If anyone is ever passing through the Gloversville, Mayfield, Johnstown NY area there is a sports shop on the main drag, just out of town, of one of those places that has a room with the walls covered with every version of Remington nylon .22's you can imagine. (Sorry, don't remember any closer than that.)

That smooth bore single shot is the Nylon 10-SB, now listed for a grand in the Blue Book. Only 2,064 made.

$250-400.00 depending on how nice it is and what model. Anything above that is collector grade and I don't collect 66's.

Avoid the detachable mag versions. They have a bad rep and you'll see them for more cheaper. Be sure to get the tube mag version.

Found that photo on line.

There was also the mention of a purple one that sold for big bucks on a gun auction. Those must have been some special runs by Remington that never made the catalog.

I picked up one that was like new at the Austin Gun Show or whatever they call the new Gunshow that they have just out side the Travis County line.
Anyhow, I was standing at the front door smoking and a guy is about to carry it in the show. He wanted $350 & I offered him $300 cash & he took it.
A couple of the Dealers inside the show offered me $400. I kept it and its a shooter. It's the brown tube fed model 66.

I saw a NIB Lever Action 76 at the Tulsa Show earlier this year. Dealer was asking $2500 !
That just nuts! IMO

I found a nice Mohawk for $300.00 and I believe I paid $300 for my Apache Black.

But if I really wanted one I'd go $400.00 if it were nice enough.
