I'll be chronographing some 90gr E-Tips over RL26 today. Will let you guys know what I find out.

I also agree that the new 95 LRX looks like a solid option. 3,150 should be doable in a 22" barrel. Pretty potent big game load there.

I used the older 85 xbt ( pre TSX) at almost .243 speeds from a 6x47. I got 2900fps and killed a few head of exotics in Texas with it. It did not open at all on two jack rabbits, but on Axis and oryx it did swell. I think the 80 TTSX is what I would try if I had any good 6mm today. I think the problem with the tips coming off, etc were from a bad batch. Overall, I like the results most people get with the tipped versions. Good luck to you pard.

That's my recipe in my .243. What primers are you using?

The 80 TTSX seems to expand a bit more aggressively than the 85 TSX.

I like the 85 TSX. I had my kids and nephews use it on quite a few critters. Caught a few too and they look just like the pictures.

If starting over again, working up a new load, I'd give the 80 tipped version a go due to JB (Muledeer) saying they opened better and with more reliability.

I could see a 243 Montana, 2.5 x 10 SWFA UL, and a stack of 80 TTSX as quite a handy package....

Why bother Mull? Stay with what works. I switched to the 95BT after I had to shoot a deer 2x with the 80ttsx. Never had to shoot a deer twice with the 95BT.

A sample of one is typically rather meaningless, when it comes to predicting future performance (statistically).

I have killed more deer with a 6mm rem. and a 243 than a train car can haul. most I have shot with a sierra 85gr. gameking BTHP my wife has used a 95gr. burger hp in her 600 rem. mohawk 243 a good bit. they work fine. but for the money they coast I would rather shoot the sierra. it is just as accurate and even more deadly. last week I killed three deer with my 660 rem. in 6mm with the sierras, all was 1 shot kills like they always are. here is a couple of photos,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I have never harvested a animal but I have killed quite a few,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

+1 on 760 powder and the Sierra 85 grain HPBT (Sierra #1530, if I recall). I've also loaded for many .243's and this is a good go-to combo for any and all. This bullet kills deer deader than dead and is about half the price of Barnes.

My friends down in SE Texas used either the 100gr Corlokt in their 6mm Remingtons or that 85 Sierra HPBT. A .243 is not diff.
