I’ve never seen the Mossberg in the flesh, but I would lean toward putting my $568 toward a used Winchester.

^^^This^^^

If I lived in OK like the OP, OO does. I’d head straight to the next big Tulsa Wanenmacher Gun Show On April 10th & 11th and put that money towards a really nice 60’s or 70’s era pre-safety Winchester 94. Lots of nice ones there two years ago at very reasonable prices.

Canadian Cabelas only, but been out of stock for more than 12 months !

Sheesh, hold into the bread basket.

Yup, they even had them on sale for a while. There's one I regret not buying.

If you go with the Mossberg, the only weakness that I would be aware of is that I see it has a tang safety, which may mean a rebounding hammer. That makes the possibility of a light strike more likely. Otherwise, I don't really have any reservations about the Mossberg.

I do have a M94 already, so the likelihood of me buying one is slim.

If they'd roll one like that out in 44 magnum they's sell a twatton of them.

I wish. Even if they bring them back in 30-30 I'll line up for one.

Got a 65 Win 94 in my safe.
$400 when they were just collecting dust on dealer shelves used.
Hell 10 yrs or so back nobody wanted the damn things (unless pre 64).
