Under no circumstances would I have gone out with or married a girl that smokes. I knew my wife for quite some time as my young son's pediatric nurse but had no idea if she smoked. On my first phone call with her close to 40 years ago to ask her out I made small talk and then casually asked her if she smoked. If she had said yes the interview would have been over.
If I were hiring someone smoking would kill that deal also.
Subjecting children to tobacco (or dope) smoke should be a crime.
