Anyone try 'em out? Easy to tune in handloads? Any reports on terminal performance? Might try the 190gr in 30-06 or the 140gr in my 6.5Swede.

Thanks for the head's up re the sale at Midway. $25.99 for a box of 190gr bonded .30 caliber bullets is not bad. I bought some .30 caliber 190gr Accubond Long Range bullets from SPS a little while back...... gonna do the 30-06 load development in parallel between the Speer Impact and ABLR.

Will be using Superformance, Staball 6.5, and N560.

Gonna wait til the temps cool off before I get going.

Have shot the 172’s in 308 and 06 , .020 off the lands with I4451 and I4064 in 308 , got .5”-.6” groups with top charge
06 with Hunter and I4350 ran 1”-1.5” with topped out loads . I’m pretty sure that could be improved on by trying the usual , seating depths , charge wieght , and powder choices .

I wanted to test the expansion of the new Impact Bonded 140gr 6.5mm offering from SPEER. I thought others might appreciate this and have been curious. After conducting load development a few weeks back, I set up some water jugs at my range. I know water jugs aren't the best testing media, but its what I had at my disposal. The water jugs were placed at 100yds.

Details of the load is as follows

Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 - 6.5 Creedmoor - 22inch barrel

SPEER Impact 140gr Bonded

Lapua 3x fired large primer brass

Federal 210 match large rifle primer

41.1gr of Reloder 16

Muzzel Velocity of 2721 fps.

Here are the results. The bullet was caught in the 5th row of jugs.

Thanks, 84Mtn. They look interesting at their price point. I've been wondering about that bullet. Might have to snag a box and see how they do.

Thanks for sharing. That looks excellent to me!

I had been wondering how those might hold up.

Speer hot core bullets impressed me in wet telephone books the most as far as holding together but the wound channel was beat by Sierra pro hunters.

Haven’t done any penatration test but did get around to running the 190’s though a 06 Venture yesterday and got some .6”-.7” groups with H414 over CCI magnum primer .
With RL-17 I got 1.25”-.1.5” and I 4831 opened to 2”
This with just pulling a charge off the books that ran about a gr under max on each load
So there was no true test of powders done , but was pretty happy with the H414 load off the top
