A new survey shows that 8 out of 10 Stihl owners are Union,
or have latent Progressive Union tendencies.

Just an experiment.
Figure it goes 10 pages of arguments based on little to no personal experience,
no consideration of opposing views, and a bunch of butt hurt.

I’ve got 4 Stihl saws and definitely don’t fit the mold.

Dillonbuck;
Top of the morning to you sir, I hope the week behaved and you're all well down in your part of the world.

Thanks for the chuckle this morning, much appreciated.

Current firewood gathering tools show I'm conflicted... grin

Please note, accompanying firearms may vary depending upon seasons and operator mood.

Way, way back in the day in order to be employed I was a member of something like the Ornamental and Wrought Iron Steelworkers Union? They changed the name later on and I only worked there for less than 6 months.

Strangely enough, a letter arrived a couple years back asking how they could transfer something like $120CDN in pension money to me.

Anyways that's the extent of my union membership, but since I have family who were and still are teachers and nurses up here and because of that hold union membership.

Thanks again for the smile sir, all the best to you all.

Dwayne

My survey indicates guys by the name of Dillon are culinary BAs and prefer whip cream over sour cream for anal swabbing.

Had me fooled for a sec, I was about to say “do whut”?

lol

Progressives would buy a Craftsman chainsaw and put it on their credit card.

I love this CHIT, this should be a lot of fun. I think you’re gonna get more than 10 pages though, let’s see lol

Saw that survey published in some pricey food journal - guess some guys that actually swab are Stihl swabbing that way.

I have 2 Stihls and I work for a living. I don't say "that's not my job" and I don't say "I'm on break"

Dwayne,
3 Mac 10-10s, 2 run. Not often. Thank goodness.
372, 359, 543, Husky.

No Stihls.

Not because I'm anti- Stihl, they make some great saws, it's more a factor
of opportunity or a desired model.

That, and a few other things that one probably can't understand if they have to ask.
Stihl has eaten away at those things recently.

I'd strongly consider a 400 if in that market, but reviews don't show its performance
to be in line with its price range.

I have 4 Stihl gasoline powered tools and never been union and am conservative. I bought Stihl because I like tools that go to work when it's time and work till the job is done. That isn't union or Lib.

Dhillonbuck;
Good morning once more, thanks for the reply.

We see some Mac saws here in the BC Interior, but I want to say they were more popular out at the coast perhaps as there seems to be more out there and on Vancouver Island.

My first saw was a Canadian made Pioneer, but Electrolux bought them up shortly after, shut the factory down and parts became unobtanium.

After that an '82?? Husky 61 came along, the ones that were white and orange for a couple years and it ran perfectly even when I sold it.

For reasons that aren't entirely clear to me anymore, I wanted a bigger saw and a friend found a year old 372XPG for me in 2006 I think it was. It's been a great saw, though it does use more gas than the 61 and can be a tad temperamental starting up above 4500' when it's hot and it's hot out.

Even though we're in BC, our trees aren't as big as at the coast and honestly the tree above is about as big as I want to fight with anymore - the bar is 24" for scale.

The little Stihl MS170 came along about 8 years back when I needed a limbing saw for a weekend project at our place and a buddy's where we rented a bucket truck together to take down about 15 Ponderosa pines at his place and another half dozen at ours.

Our eldest daughter was working at the local saw shop then, which sell Husky and Stihl. When she told them what I was looking for, they suggested/offered the little MS170 at a screaming deal to me, saying it'd be a better saw over the long run than the consumer grade smaller Husky saws.

That all might have changed now, I'm not sure.

That MS170 is made in the USA by the way and while I don't use it a whole lot, it's really easy starting and runs like a top whenever and wherever.

For me it's parts availability that was the biggest reason to go with either Stihl or Husky, as there are good saw shops north and south of us that service and supply for them both.

Best to you all this weekend.

Dwayne
