Who owns/operates those trails by the East-West Express?
Are the trails horse-friendly summertime? In terms of wheeler traffic and ground condition.

I asked a friend and his best guess was that they are state trails but we do know they are pretty swampy there. The Chulitna Bluff trail might be drier.

I believe there are trails that go back to some cabins. I was researching some property back there and was told that the land owner association maintains trails and the are some bridges that are only wide enough for an atv and not a side by side. Not sure if that's any help or not

Mike, those trails aren't maintained in the sunmer as far as I know and having run the E/W Express on sleds and seen the kind of terrain involved, I seriously doubt it can be ridden very far on horseback. It crosses some very swampy country and would be a long ride. Is there a particular spot you're trying to get too?
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Thanks, it all helps.
That looked like a wet area, but one doesn't know until they know.
John- looking for trail rides along the parks while headed to Fbx for a bit this summer. We'll have an old dog with us, so we'll do day rides. No overnighting on this.

Stampede trail to the Savage River would be a good day ride, could possibly go to the bus but that would be a long day out and back. There's a trail back behind Usibelli Mine, don't remember what it's called though. Plenty of trails off the Steese of your going to be up that way.

Thinking about Stampede. Have been up behind Usibelli. Got a few locations penciled in for da banks.
Looking for something between Anch and Denali roughly.

Byers Lake trail has a trail but I'm not sure how long it is and there's always the Rabideaux trail just past the Susitna river bridge.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.
