Really...and how is the Brno model 21 or ZG47 compromised?
LOL...they are not a 'copy' , they are made from war surplus Mauser production parts. Some have been put together using war components that were produced late in the war using speedy short -cut production methods, so in reality some are still a compromise of the original 1898 M98.
I also would not rank the pressed metal magbox on ZG47 bottom metal with that of the one-piece straddle units on pre-war sporting Oberndorfs. and the slot of metal taken out of the top of ZG-47 front receiver ring....,no thanks.
Ever owned a ZG47?
He is a halfwit with very little in the way of knowledge.

I've never had a bolt action in my hands that feeds, locks up and shucks brass like the ZG47 does. Just a wonderful machine to behold.
Sadly, I've never worked over the 21's, but I would hope to work one over sooner than later.
What do you think about the ZKW 465 action? I've only seen them come in a 22 hornet. Have they been produced in other cartridges?

The ZKW 465 was only made in 22 Hornet...BUT, Krico made a clone for a couple of years in 22 Hornet and 222 Rem, they are like hen's teeth but they do exist.
What the ZKW does make is a nifty little 22 Spitfire that will push a 40 gr Nosler bt along at 3400 fps using the original Brno barrel, the only modifications are a rechamber + chase the neck out, the ribs inside the ZKW magazine be filed out to make room for the Spitfire case, plus adjust magazine lips to suit. 22 Spitfire is made from 30 M1 carbine cases.
I had three rifles so chambered, 2x ZKW 465 and one early Ruger no 3, all three spat the 40 gr projectiles out at 3400 fps with no problems with the cases.
MY 77 does not do that, it's more a push feed until almost chambered. Load slow and the cartridge will jump forward completely uncontrolled not held by the extractor.
Minor I know, yet a 98 it ain't.
I agree!
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.
I really like those CZ rifles with the mini Mauser action. I've long thought about buying the left hand version in .223 that comes with the European "hogback" stock and fixed sights. The only thing that's held me back is the single set trigger.

I've had CZ rifles with their single set triggers, and they work real nice. You can completely ignore them, by the way. If you don't set them, they work just like any other rifle trigger.
