I suggested that the outhouse on my farm might need cleaned out- dug deeper this year. I told them I had thought about doing the job with one powerful blast from my 270WSM. I was worried though about over penetration and hurting someone on the other side of the earth, they claim its round you know. My buddy declined to do it with his 06, was afraid of getting sued by the devil for draining that crap into hell and putting the fire out. Don't know why he thought a 06 would go that deep???

i just hate it when my '06 speaks and something out there at about 100 yards fails to kneel down in deep respect & reverence.

only on the wet & nasty days do i take out the 270 savage package gun, and use 130 grain core-lokts.

if we used real guns in this hear parts, all the game animals would run away.

then we'd be left hunting the varmints.. groundhogs, coyotes, etc.

270s just wish they could grow up one day and become 30-06s.

It's a 25-06 on steroids.

Finally, a fitting use for a 270 something or other.

Have used a 270 almost exclusively since 1981.

The .270 is the 30.06s gay son.

but there are gay sons out there than can whup their big daddy in a heartbeat.

They are both fantastic rounds, you can’t go wrong with either one.

I have to admit, an 06’ pushing a 165 ballistic tip 2900 FPS with 1.3” groups at 200 yards is powerful medicine. Really happy with the used Nosler Rifle I purchased here on the fire.
