Statins deplete your natural CoQ10 enzyme. If you are on statins, you need it as a supplement. It's important for heart health.

Statins are a category of drugs that are categorically cautioned against by all of the doctors I know or have studied. Mostly due to the effects. Second is that they offer no benefits.

CoQ 10 Is something that can be very beneficial if taken properly. The heart requires it in large amounts and it's necessary for energy production.

Maybe it would help with side-effects of the Rona non-vaccine?

I’m shocked.

If you want more information, let me know.
This is a little introduction from a famous brain surgeon. Many physicians subscribe to his news letter and know that he's in this for the patients, not the $.

Two more and then I'm off.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of physicians did not study nutrition in college.

They do not study nutrition now. Nutrition is the basis for health, not drugs.
There are likely two on this board who do study nutrition from what I read, so I don't lump them in with those others.
Keep that in mind when you seek information on health. Nobody is required to have a medical license in your state to speak to any topics. The trolls through up that straw man lie whenever they don't like someone's answer. The most education they probably get on statins is from their drug salesman.

Here's a physician who is highly respected for his work in nutrition and the causes of death. He also specializes in life extension technologies, forensics, and epigenetics....genetic expressions and how to change them for the better. He has written a book on cholesterol.

Well, it helps Walmart's bottom line. Expensive little pills for a vitamin. I only take 10 mg of a statin because a real cardiologist said that I should. Another doc suggested the CoQ10 to help ward off any muscle/joint aches. I think that even the small 10 mg dose builds up over time and I'll bite those 10's in half for a day or two if I start to experience any joint discomfort. Works for me and expensive or not, I still take 200 mg of that CoQ10. The wife was on Crestor which was really expensive and said that she was able to drop down to using a generic statin by just taking 50 mg of CoQ10.

I had serious muscle pain in my shoulders and upper arms, sometimes radiating into my legs from taking Statins for a heart condition. It got so bad I couldn't sleep at night and no position I got into would make me comfortable. Kind of like having a really bad cramp you can't stretch enough to get rid of no matter how hard you try.

Very little study has gone into this condition, so finding information is difficult but I talked to my cardiologist and he told me the pain is from the Statins concentrating in the largest muscle groups and can damage muscle cells. CoQ10 is an enzyme your body produces naturally that helps your cells repair any damage, but your body doesn't produce very much of it as you get older so taking a replacement can be necessary...

It has take a while, but the CoQ10 is finally getting me to the point I don't think about it much any more and I only occasionally have the muscle pains any more..

Dr. Joel Wallach is that the best you got? Another of Happy Camper's quack resources.

The Multilevel Marketing crook, Veterinarian.

Google "Dr. Joel Wallach, quack", and see what you come up with.

Just a few of the lies he has been caught telling: Dr. Quack Wallach

Since physicians have a life expectancy of only 58 years, how can you trust them with maintaining your health? Actually, physicians have a greater life expectancy (averaging 75-88 years) than the general population.

Mercury amalgam used in dental fillings causes multiple sclerosis. Not supported by clinical research.

Many Americans suffer from “malabsorption disease.” Certain diseases exist in which people have difficulty absorbing nutrients. However, Wallach is referring to a nonexistent condition which, like the long discredited idea of autointoxication, is based on concepts that ignore scientific research on gastrointestinal tract functioning.

Cystic fibrosis is preventable and 100% curable in its early stages. This statement is completely unfounded.

Five cultures around the world have average lifespans of 120-140 years. The key to their longevity is the consumption of colloidal mineral waters (“glacier milk”). No such long-lived cultures exist.

Claims to have authored over 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as several medical texts. Searchs of standard indexes have turned up only a handful of publications, nearly all of which are of dubious quality.

Claims to have performed 20,500 animal and human autopsies while working as a veterinarian in St. Louis. Even if veterinarians and naturopaths were allowed to conduct human autopsies (which they are not), Wallach would had to have performed them at a rate of 6 per day, 5 days a week, for 12 years in addition to his other duties and while authoring his numerous (though unfindable) articles.

Standard vitamins are not digested but pass out in the feces still in tablet form. An unsubstantiated anecdote.

States that 50% of 70-year-old Americans have Alzheimer’s disease. The actual figure for Americans between 65-74 years of age is 3.9% [13].

Claims to have cured cases of porcine Alzheimers. Pigs don’t get Alzheimer’s disease.

Greying hair and facial wrinkles at any age are due to a copper deficiency. Not supported by clinical research.

Cardiomyopathy is solely the result of a selenium deficiency. Cardiomyopathy is a group of heart-muscle disorders with several different causes.

All aneurysms (over 40 different kinds) are due to a copper deficiency. Not supported by clinical research.

Male-pattern baldness is due to a tin deficiency. Not supported by clinical research.

Bell’s palsy is the result of a calcium deficiency. The usual cause is compression of the facial nerve.

Diabetes and hypoglycemia are due to vanadium and chromium deficiencies. Not supported by clinical research.

Sodium consumption is unrelated to high blood pressure in humans. As evidence he notes that cows use salt licks, but don’t suffer from high blood pressure. Animals use salt licks as needed. Sodium intake affects blood pressure in people who are salt-sensitive.

Periodontal disease is the result of a calcium deficiency and is not influenced by the quality of oral hygiene. Not supported by clinical research.

All low back pain is due to osteoporosis. An absurd idea; the most common causes are muscle and ligament strains from overexertion.

Metallic minerals (i.e., regular vitamins and minerals) are only 8-12% absorbable while colloidal minerals are 98% absorbable. No data support such a claim; the figures appear to have been pulled out of thin air.

The human body transports, stores, and uses minerals in colloidal form. This is simply not true; minerals inevitably occur either as mineral salts, compounded with proteins or lipids, or as enzymal and hormonal components.

My young Cardiologist has a medical degree, keeps up with all latest research and agrees that LDL (the "bad" cholesterol) deposits on inflamed artery walls to protect them from further inflammation. He also also agrees that If you take statin drugs to lower your LDL level to what's currently considered to be a normal level the remaining LDL will still attach to an inflamed artery to protect it. A few things that inflame your arteries are mental stress, lack of sleep, too much alcohol, too much caffeine, nicotine, too much sugar and foods that cause blood sugar spikes. He also tells me to exercise, don't get fat, to take COQ10, to take fish oil. My LDL levels have always been much higher that what's considered to be normal but I don't take statin drugs now and never will because they make me extremely fatigued.

Doctors are taught to ameliorate the symptoms of disease using two primary modalities of treatment, drug therapy and surgical intervention.Doctors don't learn about other therapies in medical school.More and more physicians are realizing that just treating the symptoms aren't yielding healthier patients.

What they may learn about nutrition and its importance in maintaining a healthy body they learn after medical school. If you think doctors have all of the answers concerning nutrition you are mistaken.Fortunately there is a future generation of doctors who have come to the realization that proper nutrition combined with a sound exercise program goes a long way to achieving and maintaining a healthy body.

Co Enzyme Q10 has been prescribed to heart patients in Japan since 1984.Their rate of heart disease is lower and their rate of recovery is higher than here in the USA.

If you need the approval of a doctor then look to the Mayo Clinic.

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an antioxidant that your body produces naturally. Your cells use CoQ10 for growth and maintenance.

Levels of CoQ10 in your body decrease as you age. CoQ10 levels have also been found to be lower in people with certain conditions, such as heart disease, and in those who take cholesterol-lowering drugs called statins.

CoQ10 is found in meat, fish and nuts. The amount of CoQ10 found in these dietary sources, however, isn't enough to significantly increase CoQ10 levels in your body.

CoQ10 dietary supplements are available as capsules, chewable tablets, liquid syrups, wafers and by IV. CoQ10 might help prevent or treat certain heart conditions, as well as migraine headaches.
Evidence

Research on CoQ10 use for specific conditions and activities shows:

Heart conditions. CoQ10 has been shown to improve symptoms of congestive heart failure. Although findings are mixed, CoQ10 might help reduce blood pressure. Some research also suggests that when combined with other nutrients, CoQ10 might aid recovery in people who've had bypass and heart valve surgeries.
Diabetes. Although more studies are needed, some research suggests that CoQ10 may help reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and total cholesterol levels in people with diabetes, lowering their risk of heart disease.
Parkinson's disease. Recent research suggests that even high doses of CoQ10 don't seem to improve symptoms in people with Parkinson's disease.
Statin-induced myopathy. Some research suggests that CoQ10 might help ease the muscle weakness and pain sometimes associated with taking statins.
Migraines. Some research suggests that CoQ10 might decrease the frequency of these headaches.
Physical performance. Because CoQ10 is involved in energy production, it's believed that this supplement might improve your physical performance. However, research in this area has produced mixed results.

Our take
Green light: Generally safe
Generally safe

CoQ10 supplements might be beneficial for treating conditions such as congestive heart failure and preventing migraines. CoQ10 is considered safe, with few side effects. However, be sure to take this supplement under your doctor's supervision.
Safety and side effects

CoQ10 supplements appear to be safe and to produce few side effects when taken as directed.

Mild side effects might include digestive problems such as:

Upper abdominal pain
Loss of appetite
Nausea and vomiting
Diarrhea

Other possible side effects may include:

Headaches and dizziness
Insomnia
Fatigue
Skin itching or rashes
Irritability or agitation

The safety of use of CoQ10 during pregnancy and breast-feeding hasn't been established. Don't use CoQ10 if you're pregnant or breast-feeding without your doctor's approval.
Interactions

Possible interactions include:

Anticoagulants. CoQ10 might make blood-thinning drugs, such as warfarin (Jantoven), less effective. This could increase the risk of a blood clot.

Sportingspecialist,

Thanks for your useful contribution to Wabigoon.
Much better than the resident trolls who've got nothing better to do than to try to lead our friends away from healthy choices.

I have a family member who got his energy back, his mind improved dramatically and lived a healthier happier life without the drug effects that were damaging his body and brain. An answer to prayer in a super market where we were connected with the oldest employee in a large worldwide pharmaceutical company. He told us that he doesn't take the meds he is the chemist for. He's trying to work himself out of a job. He's in his 80s telling us about his exercise routine. He tells my dad that he should take the supplements, especially CoQ10.
He says," Grab my hand and squeeze. No SQUEEZE!"
THEN he squeezes my hand and I thought he might floor me, but he let off. He challenges the tall 20+ year old guys at work to race across the parking lot periodically to test himself, does push ups like Bruce Lee on his finger tips. I credit him for convincing my medicine minded dad to cut back, as needed on the Rxs and integrating the supplements. He got a lot back and lived a full life too.

That reminds me that I should visit my friend who helped my Dad soon .

Moe,

Are you like the other guys who also check Snopes for "fact checks?".
I've heard whatever smear campaigns have come along since the early 80s when big pharma started attacking him. They don't like competition or the heros who make them look bad.
Those who overcame Cystic Fibrosis to Downs Syndrome with Dr. Wallach's help don't complain.
Some of us benefitted from his 70+ peer reviewed published studies, or his famous book in the Smithsonian aren't criticizing his intelligence.
He decided to go for the Naturalpathic rather than the Alopathic (chemical based) direction because he found remedies for diseases that WORKED with nutrition, but NOT with drugs in clinical PRACTICE.
How many forensic pathologists do you know who have done thousands of human autopsies and on hundreds of species of animals? Applying the information to benefit people as well. This wasn't an academic excercise like so many pHds. He then goes on to kick the FDAs butt with numerous law suits he won against them. Of course they won't speak favorably of him any more than the drug companies and their "fact checkers "

I'll bet your cardiologist can one up that.......lol.
