I like hostess products best of those 3 brands. Not something I eat often.

They gained a lot of popularity in select locations due to cockroaches and rodents finding them repulsive and leaving them alone.

I grew up in PA where Tastykake originated. I had an uncle who lived many different states where they were unavailable, and mom always sent him a case for Christmas. Peanut butter ones are the best.

Many moons ago I drove a bread truck. Sold Dolly Madison and Hostess cakes and donuts, etc. Most bread had a 3 day shelf life and the sweet stuff had a week to 2 weeks shelf life. The Hostess schiit that is sold today has months of shelf life. The product I sold way back when wasn't all that good, but the crap on the shelf today has more preservatives in it than real ingredients. It's an easy pass for me.

My me-maw loved going to the day old bread store…

Get stale bread for Rufus, Midgett and Betty Crocker, her chickens…

Back when it was fun to shop and still could smoke in stores…
