Looks like some fun desert hunting. I see a scalie in there too. The dogs and I have been trying to find a few mearns. Not great this year but always fun exploring new drainages.

Nice job. Been several years since I have hunted Az quail. Sadly those days are probably over. Great fun while it lasted.

Ill answer what I use when pursuing Az birds:
20 gauge Benelli Montefeltro. For scaled and Gambel's quail an improved choke with 1 oz of #7 1/2s. For Mearns cylinder with 1 oz of #8s. Been using this combination since the shotgun was purchased new in 2002.
