A buddy sent me these over the weekend. He saw a model 81 (I believe that is the right model) 22 with the barrel stamped as "model 36 RC 30-30" at a show somewhere and was asking what I knew about it. Has anyone every run across anything like this before?

An interesting mistake.
Odd things happened at Marlin. I believe there another mismarked .22lr floating around. I remember it from Marlin Talk.

I have a .256WM with no serial no. I always figured the rare models were the one returned for a serial number.

Interesting. If there is another mismarked one floating around I would love to hear about it. I honestly thought there would be more discussion on this.

Somebody had 1 job...to roll stamp barrels , so he must have been hung over on Monday Morning !
I know Mis-stamped coins Command High Prices , That's definitely unusual.

The guy that has it for sale isn't asking an "outrageous" price I don't believe.
