This belongs to a good friend of mine. Nice piece for the Remington guys.

Sent it to a friend. Barrel length says 22" and 24". Can you confirm the barrel length?

Very nice gun

I'm not trying to discourage anyone, but I have a tale of a 700 classic in 6.5 Swede.
A customer brought me a brand new one years back, he was having trouble chambering and extracting his brand new Norma factory loads. Part of the time they wouldn't eject either. I just couldn't figure it out...I cleaned under the extractor ring (there were some tiny brass fragments in the action) and checked everything I could think of...finally in desperation I tried some different factory ammo...Federal I think it was...it worked flawlessly.
Rim measurement showed Norma to have the true spec rim dia of .480, Federal was .473...007 undersize, Rem rims measured in between at .477.
Once he got ammo to fit, everything was fine.
Now keep in mind, that is just one rifle, one time, one batch number of ammo...maybe there is no problem, but obviously the bolt was dimensioned for the .473 family of cartridges.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

My brother's 6.5x55 classic work great and is quite accurate. It has become his favorite rifle. I'm guessing this will go for about $1,500

My Barret won't feed Lapua brass but American brass fits fine. The rim is larger on the Lapua at 476 compared to .473 that it seems American brass comes at. A friend suggested turning down the neck on the Lapua to get it to feed. Haven't tried that yet. My wife's Ruger MK II handles everything.

No matter how bad i wanted one I could never pay 1500 for one or a grand. My classic in 8x57 cost me $348 & the 264 was 365. But I got screwed on the m70 pushfeed fwt in 6.5x55 I had to pay 389 for that. No I just can't wrap my brain around today's going prices. Mb

Well it's not 1992 anymore, and primers aren't' 12.95 a brick either. grin

A nice 6.5x55 Classic can be difficult to find. I looked for 9 years before I found the one that I wanted.
